We will begin by looking into a prophecy found in Daniel chapter 2. The focus of this chapter is the unveiling of the future by One who knows the future. The book of Daniel finds its center in the heavenly sanctuary and, more specifically, the Judgment. Daniel’s name means “God is my Judge.” This chapter reveals God’s sovereign control in the affairs of world history. In Daniel, God pulls back the curtain of time and reveals to us those portions of history that affect His covenant people.

The Bible writers had a unique perspective on judgment. They did not treat it as bad news, but as good news! They did not view it as something outside the redemptive process, but as part of that process. They saw it as evidence that history is not an aimless and undirected process. Therefore, they welcomed the judgment with eagerness and hope, because it promised the ultimate condemnation of evil, and the ultimate vindication and triumph of righteousness and truth.

About the Speaker
